TAKING THE STEP TO PRACTICE LEARNING POINTS…motivating yourself

I take time to share on the above thought as I give testament that learning knows no age…
Recently, I have been trying to use every opportunity to put what I have learned to practice and come to the realization that I need a strong will to act out my knowledge.
A couple of months ago, I received feedback on how I executed a certain activity. Basically, it was to the effect that I could register a movement from where I was to a more engaging approach. I was advised that while my content and grasp of issues were sound, it would make a world of difference if I could incorporate the proposed approach (which entailed that I completely left my comfort zone!).
The next opportunity I got to perform was preceded with pondering whether I was ready to try out the new approach. The voice that was the loudest in my mind was saying “You are ready because you already know what you should do… so just do it!”
I tried to find the not so loud voice which was saying “Well, you have learned what you should do to improve… decide to go ahead when you are ready”.
I spent the rest of the pondering time coming up with a strategy of implementation…and I did it! To be honest, I think it was a start but what is profound is that I now realize that I can get better at it.
Self-motivation is a critical attribute to have. Reach into yourself for it!
Let’s share…
