CONDESCENDING BEHAVIOR BY CORPORATE ACTORS… a component of unethical conduct

Defined as “an attitude or behavior that displays a sense of superiority and belittles others often through patronizing or dismissive remarks or actions” condescending overtures on the part of corporate actors is a touchy subject that in my view, requires to be discussed with a view of giving context with regard to the classification of such behavior.
In my few sharings on ethical behavior, I have learned that respect is a characteristic of ethical behaviour. Therefore, an actor who has conducted him or herself in a condescending manner has been disrespectful and is just as guilty as the one that fails to disclose an interest in a transaction with the organization. My observation is that in most cases, emphasis is usually given to the latter in terms of provision and sanction.
Often, actors will behave in an unethical manner by being condescending and make it their order of business and probably from a point of ignorance about what that behaviour amounts to. Sometimes, some actors accept it is a sign of asserting leadership or submitting to authority.
As we continue to share ideas with a view to unlock some of the issues that stand as barriers to success, it is important to identify them and develop solutions.
