Only recently did I establish a connection between the statement above and my experience with the reconstruction of my Cirriculum Vitae (CV).
My Consultant made some very bold statements about my old CV, one of which was that the full extent of what was contained therein could only be determined if I spoke into it. He said that standing alone, it didn’t really tell my professional story.
One should be comfortable to release their CV to prospectors without insisting to add their spoken word to it for effect, in the event that the opportunity to do so was not there. Who you are professionally should be present in the CV…with enough detail to answer the question “Who is this person anyway?”
This is one of the defining first steps towards packaging one self.
