One day, a former classmate from University and Bar School posted a picture that was taken 25 years ago of himself with me seated next to him at our University graduation.
It was nice to see a picture of myself in the prime of my youth but what struck me was his comment that while at University, he was once the President of the University Law Association Executive and I was the Secretary.
I found myself pondering over it and realized that I started building my secretarial skills that early!
I also vividly recalled how I summoned courage to stand for election as Secretary of the Association.
The work, collaboration, engagements, event planning and organization that we were privileged to experience was the stage setting for me…
I found that this experience (as well as other experiences that I was reminded to recall) contributed to who I am in my career today.
My point here is that I think that it is profound to be aware of what pieces of experiences make the person that you are…especially when you are at crossroads and perhaps doubting your potential or ability.
Though I perhaps never considered it from that perspective until now, I find that it is a powerful trait which can be of good use as you traverse your career and map your trajectory…
