LEARNING IS LEARNING …even if it means how not to do something!

In our professional lives, we encounter experiences that appear not to have relevance to our growth trajectory. Worse still, sometimes we get so disappointed by the behaviour of people we admired and were inspired by from a distance, when we finally get to meet them!
Mixed feelings of surprise, confusion, disagreement and even emotional pain my grip you during a bad learning moment.
Whereas , we may not predict when we will have a bad learning day, we can control our response to the situation by strengthening our value set with the attitude of positivity.
I propose that taking a moment to consider that the ranting and raving that you are receiving from another may not even be about you, helps to position you to see beyond overt behavior. You listen more intently and are able to make distinctions and develop focus on the learning point… which may be, how not to do something correctly. This will open your eyes to the pitfalls and inform your behaviour if found in a similar situation in future or in advising those that follow on how to handle certain things.
Experience has a huge part to play in one’s growth trajectory. It is important that we are resilient and forthright in our resolve to become valuable assets to society by extending the scope of our responses to the many situations we encounter.
Let’s share…
