The lioness sits in the grass, unbothered by the elephants helping themselves by the watering hole. She is not on the hunt, and the elephants are not her playmates!
She looks like she is posing for a photograph. Present, self aware and in no hurry. She looks pensive… almost as though she is planning for the future as she hangs out! Here is what I gather from this picturesque scene:
1. It is not every opportunity that calls for a fight or even an approach. It is okay to let some things pass you by because it’s neither your business nor beneficial target.
2. Energy is a precious resource that requires storage for when we need it. It is unwise to offload precious cargo into oblivion, worse still, for nothing. Store your energy.
3. The down time is for strategy development because time has a way of creating a need somewhere in our lives. Albert Einstein is quoted as saying, “a clever person solves problems and a wise person avoids them”. It’s all in how much you invest in planning and assessing possibilities and probabilities.
4. Knowing the difference between battles and wars and how to navigate them is a determinant of lioness qualities. Winning the war is the epitome of victory and battles are relatively smaller activities and have scope for choice on whether to expend energy on them or not. A war, on the other hand, would require planning that involves navigation of battles to win the big prize in the war. The lioness is both resilient and strategic in focus.
Let me know if this resonates with you in any way as we look forward to another page in the lioness diaries.
