LOSS OF MEMORY OR LACK OF CONSIDERATION?…which is it?

There are times when we find ourselves trying to figure out or put more empathetically, “ trying to understand” the behavior of some of the people that we interact with. From the outset, I must say, this is a very logical human response to stimuli. It helps us plan our next move, so to speak.

Behavioral patterns are useful inputs, especially in strategy setting and implementation in organisations. I would say the same for management of interpersonal relationships.

There is usually a quagmire when we go “off course” in a situation we know how to act better. Do we lose the memory of acting in the right way or do we just choose not to give due consideration?

As human beings we are more inclined to self preserve, and there is a tendency to act out of convenience or facilitation for ourselves. The caution here is to avoid being consumed by the lone desire to preserve oneself at the expense of integrity and otherwise necessary consistency.

Building qualities such as consideration for people and situations are worthwhile because they bring us closer to a meaningful existence not only for ourselves but also those around us. Together we can make the world better…
